Rare Dome-Lidded Redware Jar, American, 19th century, semi-ovoid jar with heavily-tooled bands, fitted with a domed lid featuring similar tooling. Surfaces decorated with a dark lead and manganese glaze. Unusual and visually-appealing form. Provenance: Recently found in New England. Numerous spots of wear and small chips to banding. Lid with spots of glaze loss and a chip to knob. H (to top of lid) 10 1/4".
