Glazed Redware Pitcher with Copper Slip Decoration, New England origin, early 19th century, ovoid pitcher with rounded foot, short flaring collar, and heavily-ribbed handle, the body decorated with two copper slip leaves over a mottled orange ground. Excellent form. Provenance: Recently found in New England. Large losses to rounded foot on reverse. Numerous small rim chips. 1/2" contact mark on front. Tiny nicks to molding at base of collar. Light wear to collar. A few scratches to surface. H 10 1/2".
