Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "FORT EDWARD / POTTERY CO.," circa 1859, cylindrical jug with rounded shoulder and squared spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed cobalt bird perched on a stylized branch. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Several cracks on underside extending onto base on front and side of jug. Cracks are jagged, causing the underside to be raised, and include a few related chips. 2 1/4" salt drip on side of jug. H 14 1/4".
