Rare and Fine Quart-Sized Stoneware Pitcher, attributed to E.B. Hissong, Cassville, PA, circa 1850, ovoid-bodied pitcher with tooled midsection and tall, flaring collar with heavily-tooled rim, the front decorated with a cobalt triple tulip design, the rim and spout decorated with cobalt dashes. Stoneware by this Huntingdon County maker is considered scarce, this small pitcher being one of the finest examples to come to auction in the past few years. Excellent condition. Two small rim chips, and a few very minor nicks to bottom edge of rim molding. Contact mark on reverse. H 7 5/8".
