Early Baluster-Form Stoneware Jar, Impressed "PAUL : CUSHMANs," Albany, NY origin, circa 1810, stylishly-thrown jar with vase-like form, having an ovoid midsection, flared rim, shouldering incising, and applied lug handles. Shoulder additionally coggled with the large signature "PAUL : CUSHMANs." This nicely-formed jar exhibits finer potting than is usually found on Cushman stoneware. A good example of early Albany stoneware. Provenance: Sanford Smith, New York, New York. Two small base chips. H 14".
