One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and squared rim, decorated with a series of brushed cobalt leaves around the shoulder. Rim chips, staining to surface, and a spidering crack at base extending upward as well as onto underside. H 10 3/4".

PLEASE NOTE: This description was transposed with the previous lot (#285). Correct description reads:

Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester Co., PA, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated with three brushed cobalt flowers around the shoulder. Mint condition. H 12 1/2".
