Glazed Redware Jar with Lid, probably New England, 19th century, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, decorated with daubs of manganese under a clear lead glaze. Includes knobbed lid with manganese highlights, the surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Crack in underside, extending onto base in two places. Light exfoliation to base. 3" crack from rim. Wear to rim. Lid with 1" hairline at edge, small edge chip, and 1 1/4" area of glaze wear to edge. H 9".
