Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Poultry Waterer, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, domed form with button-shaped finial and hooded watering trough on front, decorated with cobalt leaves on the shoulder and surrounding the opening. Cobalt highlight to top of finial. Hairlines to shoulder area. Restored chips to edge of opening, including some touch-up to cobalt. 2 1/4" hairline extending horizontally from edge of opening, along with some other very short hairlines to edge of opening. Hairlines on underside, one of which extends 1/2" onto base. Restored cracks on reverse, including some touch-up to right leaf on reverse. Additional 1 1/2" surface line at base. H 11 1/2".
