Very Rare Small-Sized Multi-Glazed Redware Creamer, attributed to S. BELL & SON OR J. EBERLY & CO., STRASBURG, VA, circa 1890, squat pitcher with ovoid body, highly pronounced foot, wide flaring collar, and applied handle. Surface covered in manganese and heavy copper glazes over a whitish slip. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Highly unusual form and size. A colorful example with a large amount of green visible. Flaking to surface near base, decreasing towards midsection. Wear to handle and contact mark on top of handle. Two rim chips and heavy glaze wear to rim. Glaze wear to foot. Exfoliation to underside and interior bottom. H 4 1/4".
