Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CLARK & LUNDY / TROY," New York State origin, circa 1825-1826, highly ovoid jug with rounded spout and heavily-ribbed handle, decorated with a brushed cobalt flower extending from a leafy stem. The short-lived partnership of John Clark and William Lundy existed from June 28, 1825 to March 27, 1826. Heavy chipping to spout. Contact marks on front. 5/8" in-the-firing stone ping on reverse. Small C-shaped line to right of decoration. H 13 1/4".
