Very Rare Slip-Decorated Redware Puzzle Jug, Pennsylvania origin, mid 19th century, with bulbous body and tall collar culminating in a rounded rim with tubular spout. Collar with incised lines and numerous punctured holes. Long rounded handle on reverse. Body, rim, and handle, decorated with copper and cream-colored slip. Collar decorated with cream-colored spots. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Strong color and rare form. Loss to spout. 5/8" x 3/8" glaze flake. A few other small glaze flakes to surface. H 3 1/2".
