Diminutive Redware Sugar Bowl with Lid, PA origin, circa 1850, ovoid pot with tooled foot and applied handles, decorated with sponged manganese and covered in a lead glaze. Each handle is intricately embellished with coggled top edge, triangular stamps along side, and asterisks at each terminal. Sugar bowl includes original lead and manganese glazed lid with button finial. Wear and heavy chips to bowl rim. Light wear to one handle. Chips to lid. H (including lid) 3 1/4" ; Diameter (at base) 2 1/2".
