Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to David Parr, Sr., Baltimore, MD, circa 1830, ovoid jar with flaring collar and applied tab handles, decorated completely around the midsection with a brushed cobalt floral motif. Shoulder decorated with cobalt swags and hanging flowers. Excellent decoration and color. Some restoration to Y-shaped crack on underside, with restoration spreading onto base area of jar. Small chip to end of one handle. Rim chip. Base chips. 6 1/2" crack extending from base. H 14 1/2".
