Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, attributed to "E.S. & B.," New Brighton, PA, late 19th century, pair of cylindrical jars with rounded shoulders and flattened rims, each decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt "2" underscored by a looping line. Decoration is applied over a whitish slip-coated clay surface. One jar with a 5 3/4" crack from rim and a 6" crack extending up from base, as well as chips on interior of rim. Other jar with an approximately 2 1/2" x 2" X-shaped line to shoulder, not visible on interior. H 11 3/8".
