Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, New York State origin, circa 1850, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt flower and cobalt "4". Includes Albany slip glazed lid and wooden dasher. Significant staining from use. X-shaped hairline on underside. Some hairlines on left side of churn. 1 1/2" rim chip. 2" and 3/4" lines from rim. Heavy chipping to lid. H 16 1/2".
