Two Spongeware Bowls, American, late 19th century, two molded spongeware bowls, one with blue sponging over a whitish ground, and another with blue and brown sponging over a cream-colored ground. Blue-and-white bowl in as-made condition with two in-the-firing separation lines on exterior, which do not go through to interior, measuring 1" and 1 1/4". Blue-and-white bowl also has a few in-the-firing touch marks to rim, as well as tripod marks and some crazing to interior only. Other bowl has a few shallow rim chips, a small chip to bottom edge of rim, and a circular line on interior, which does not go through to underside. H (of blue-and-white bowl) 6" ; Diameter (of blue-and-white bowl) 12".
