Multi-Glazed Redware Cuspidor, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, late 19th century, with tooled midsection and tall, dramatically-flared collar, decorated with cream-colored slip and splashed manganese and copper under a clear lead glaze. This exact cuspidor is pictured in Comstock's The Pottery of the Shenandoah Valley Region, p. ???. 3 1/2" x 4" restored section extending downward from rim. Additional restoration to rim and interior. Small rim and base chips. H 6 1/4" ; Diameter 7 3/4".
