Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decorations, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, large-sized ovoid-bodied pitcher with heavily-tooled section below collar, decorated on the front with an elaborate triple-stemmed flowering plant. Sides of pitcher decorated with a vertical flower with leafy stem. Collar decorated with a cobalt stripe, flower heads, along with swags and dashes along the spout. Pitcher broken into pieces, reglued, and restored. Poorly restored handle. Pitcher appears to have a completely restored underside. Restoration to tip of spout. Small base chips. Restoration to base. H 14".
