Three-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1860, straight-sided cooler with tooled foot and shoulder, squared rim, ribbed handles, and circular bung hole at base. Decorated vertically with a flowering plant design extending from the bung hole, and on the reverse with a similar motif. Decorated under one handle with a hanging daisy-shaped flower and under the oppposite handle with chainlinks. Desirable form with excellent color and condition. 6" hairline on underside. Base chip and small, in-the-making chip to bung hole. H 14 3/4".
