Glazed Redware Pitcher, New England origin, early to mid 19th century, highly ovoid pitcher with tooled shoulder and foot, ribbed handle, and short, narrow collar. Surface decorated with streaked manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Attractive bright orange coloration. Four flakes out of surface with old plaster repair. Some glaze loss to surface. Glaze loss to interior. Numerous cracks in underside, continuing onto base area of pitcher. Shallow 2" flake off underside. Base chips. Small spots of wear to handle and rim. H 10 1/2".
