Very Rare Glazed Redware Bulb Starter, probably PA origin, mid 19th century, dome-shaped vessel with tooled foot and slightly flared rim created with five rows of carved holes, likely designed as a starter pot for plant bulbs. Surface decorated with heavy flecks of manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Highly unusual form. Rim chips. Wear and a few chips to base area. H 10 1/2".
