Extremely Rare Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Water Cooler, Stamped "E. PARR," Elisha Parr, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1825, ovoid cooler with tall, straight collar, open handles, and spout at base, decorated with a large brushed cobalt floral design on the front and back. Collar decorated with cobalt flowerheads between cobalt stripes Outstanding form. This cooler is the only example signed "E. PARR" we are aware of. It is also one of less than ten pieces of stoneware bearing this mark known, and one of only five Baltimore coolers known from this time period bearing a maker's mark. Restored handles and bung. 2" x 2 1/2" restored section to rim. 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" restored area near shoulder on reverse. H 15 1/2".
