Very Rare Glazed Redware Match Safe, Stamped "JOHN BELL," circa 1850, small-sized vessel with flared opening and pedestal base, glazed with sponged manganese and lead over a yellowish ground. Rim and base accented with incised lines. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark on underside. Excellent color and desirable size. Extremely rare form. Near mint condition with light wear to rim. H 3".
