Extremely Rare Blue-Decorated Stoneware Chicken Waterer, Greensboro or New Geneva, PA, origin, circa 1875, beehive form with attached saucer base and rainbow handle. Fashioned with a hole at the vessel"s base. The wavy line and stylized vine decorations are consistent with the work of Western PA pottery companies, including James Hamilton, Hamilton & Jones, T.F. Reppert, R.T. Williams, J. Eneix, and others. Near mint condition, with only a few minor lines in the saucer. Height to top of handle 12 1/2". A seldom seen form in stoneware, and virtually unknown in Western PA pottery production.
