Six-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Tree Decoration, OH origin, third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and arched tab handles, brush-decorated on the front with a stylized folk art rendering of a tree. Cobalt stripes to handle. Chips to interior of rim. A small chip to exterior of rim. Shallow chips to underside of one handle, which are partially glazed over. A small area of wear to edge of opposite handle. A 1 1/8" chip to underside at edge. A small base chip and minor base nick. A shallow 1" in-the-firing lime ping at base. H 16 1/2".
