Fine Large-Sized Salt-Glazed Stoneware Vase with Cobalt Decoration, attributed to J.H. Owen, Seagrove, NC, early 20th century, ovoid vase with flared rim and applied strap handles, decorated around the midsection with crossing incised lines accented with brushed cobalt slashes. Handles decorated with vertical cobalt stripes. Outstanding size and form. A thin 1 1/4" crack on underside forming an appproximately 4 1/4" vertical hairline at base. Surface crazing to much of vase's bottom half, not visible on interior and likely in-the-firing. H 17 3/4".
