One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1885, ovoid pitcher with footed base, tooled accents to body, and short collar with semi-squared rim, brush-decorated with four large foliate motifs around the body and swags at the spout and collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 9" sealed, inverted Y-shaped crack from rim including a reglued 1 1/8" flake at center of crack. A 3" hairline from rim on opposite side of rim. H 12 1/4".
