Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Stenciled Cobalt Decoration, Stenciled "A.P. Donaghho, / Parkersburg, W.Va.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and extruded lug handles, decorated at the shoulder with a stenciled "3" flanked by stylized drape stenciling, across the midsection with two bands of geometric stenciling, and at the base with A.P. Donaghho maker's stenciling. A 1 3/16" flake to one handle. A 7/8" flake to opposite handle. A 2" horizontal Y-shaped surface line to left side of jar near base. A few additional short lines to right side of jar near base. Staining to surface. Some exfoliation to interior. H 13 1/2".
