Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, a four-gallon cylindrical jug with large abstract floral decoration, stamped "G.W. FULPER & BROS., / FLEMINGTON, N.J.," circa 1881-1890; paired with a two-gallon semi-ovoid jug with slip-trailed daisy motif, stamped "A.O. WHITTEMORE / HAVANA, N.Y." circa 1862-1893. Taller jug with spout chips, staining, overfired spots, a minor glazed-over dent to left of decoration, and two pieces of adhered clay in underside. Shorter jug with a 2" x 1 3/4" chip to bottom edge, a 3 1/4" vertical line at base, crazing to base and underside, staining to surface, fry to cobalt, and an in-the-firing, glazed-over iron ping to shoulder. H (of taller) 17 1/4".
