Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, a four-gallon cylindrical jug with stylized slip-trailed floral decoration featuring spots and scrolled stems, circa 1860; paired with a three-gallon ovoid jar with cobalt highlights to the maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals, stamped "M.C. WEBSTERS&ON(sic) / HARTFORD," CT origin, circa 1840-1857. Jug with a large flake and hairline to handle, minor spout chips, staining to surface, and some minor in-the-firing surface flaws. Jar with a small rim chip on reverse, a 4 1/4" hairline from rim on front, a 1 1/2" hairline from rim on reverse, minor glazed-over chipping to base, and some staining. H (of jug) 17".
