Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Bird Decoration, Stamped "I. SEYMOUR / TROY," NY State origin, circa 1830, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a bird perched on a stylized leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Professionally-restored cracks to roughly the bottom half of the jug, not affecting decoration. A small in-the-firing iron ping to bottom half of jug's front. H 14 1/4".
