Scarce One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Fredericksburg, VA Advertising, OH origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and small lug handles, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "MANUFACTURED / FOR / FREDERICKSBURG, VA." Made in Ohio for a Fredericksburg, VA merchant. A 6" crack from rim on left side of jar's front. An additional, thin 3 1/2" crack from rim on front. A 1 7/8" hairline from rim above one handle. A thin, approximately 3 1/4" crack from rim on reverse. A small chip to each handle and a small worn section to one handle. Two small chips to interior of rim. H 9 3/4".
