Manganese-Decorated Redware Flowerpot, Stamped "S. BELL & SON. / STRASBURG," VA origin, circa 1890, ovoid pot with flattened rim and attached saucer, the surface covered in beige slip and decorated around the shoulder with three lead-and-manganese-glazed swag motifs. Unusually fine condition for this form and maker, with some edge wear to rim and in-the-firing surface crazing to slip at shoulder. H 6 7/8".
