Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "ELIZ.TOWN-N.J," Pruden Family, Elizabethtown, NJ, second quarter 19th century, highly-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a bold stylized foliate motif composed of six large strokes. Two large chips to base of handle. A small in-the-firing Y-shaped line to base of handle and an in-the-firing contact mark to handle. In-the-firing salt drips to left side of jug. An in-the-firing contact mark below decoration. H 12 1/2".
