Extremely Rare Small-Sized Stoneware Jug with Albany Slip Glaze, Stamped "E. DODD," Hartford, CT origin, circa 1821, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, the surface covered in a reddish-brown Albany slip glaze. Impressed with the mark of Hartford, Connecticut merchant, Elisha Dodd, at shoulder, highlighted in silver paint. The only piece bearing this stamp that we have seen. Excellent condition with two minor base nicks, an in-the-firing ping near base, and a small glazed-over spout chip. H 8 3/4".
