Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & CO / LYONS," NY State origin, circa 1845, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a stem bearing two tulip blossoms. Freehand number 3 above. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Excellent condition with a small scratch to cobalt, possibly in-the-firing, and some miniscule nicks to spout. H 15 3/4".
