Exceptional Miniature Stoneware Presentation Churn with Cobalt Decoration and Stamped Initials "J P," probably Upstate NY, circa 1830, narrow form with handles, which tapers up from the base, decorated with incised and cobalt-highlighted moldings at the rim, midsection, and base. Two bright cobalt leaves decorate the front. The initials "J P" are stamped below the collar and likely represent the person for whom the churn was made. Handles also decorated completely with cobalt. Churn includes antique miniature wooden dasher and guide. Excellent condition with a few very tiny rim chips. Height 5 5/8".
