Four-Gallon Jug with Elaborate Grape Vine Design, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, decorated with a large grape vine motif with a bunch of eight grapes, four well-detailed leaves, six coiling tendrils, and corresponding stems covering most of the front of the jug. Professionally restored handle. Also, an area beneath and on both sides of the handle has overpaint. A small line of glaze wear on side. Height 17 1/2".
